The Maglite® Green Spectrum XL50® LED Flashlight is a compact, three-AAA specialty flashlight that combines the XL50® platform with a purpose-built green Spectrum LED and convenient electronic tail-cap operation. The green beam is designed for applications where green illumination offers advantages over conventional white light, including outdoor observation, hunting, wildlife viewing, fishing, night use, signaling, and search-and-rescue applications. Green light is highly visible to the human eye and can help reduce the disruption to night vision associated with extended use of conventional white light. The flashlight delivers 143 lumens on High, a 186-meter beam distance, 8,633 candela peak beam intensity, and runtime of 6 hours 15 minutes on High or 31 hours on Low. The QuickClik® electronic switch, multiple operating modes, LED Heat-Sink Technology, aluminum construction, and water-resistant design provide practical specialty performance in a compact handheld package.

1. Beam and Runtime Capabilities

The Green Spectrum XL50® LED produces up to 143 lumens of green light, with an ANSI/PLATO FL 1 beam distance of 186 meters (approximately 610 feet) and 8,633 candela peak beam intensity. The combination of a highly visible green beam and concentrated intensity gives the flashlight substantial reach while retaining the characteristics that make green illumination useful for outdoor and specialty applications.

The flashlight provides 143 lumens on High with 6 hours 15 minutes of runtime and 33 lumens on Low with up to 31 hours of runtime. This gives the user a choice between maximum green-light output and an extended-runtime setting for lower-output tasks.

  • Maximum Output: 143 lumens

  • Low Output: 33 lumens

  • Beam Color: Green

  • Beam Distance: 186 m / approx. 610 ft.

  • Peak Beam Intensity: 8,633 cd

  • Runtime – High: 6 hr. 15 min.

  • Runtime – Low: 31 hr.

  • Runtime – Eco: N/A

  • Light Source: Green Spectrum LED

2. Technology and Features in the Head of the Flashlight

The flashlight uses a specialized Green Spectrum LED light engine rather than a conventional white LED. Green illumination is particularly useful outdoors because many animals, insects, and fish typically react less to a green LED light source. The human eye also responds strongly to green light, making it useful for nighttime observation and applications where visible green illumination is preferred.

The LED system incorporates LED Heat-Sink Technology to help manage heat generated by the LED and support dependable operation within the compact aluminum flashlight. Electronic power management works with the flashlight's multiple output settings to regulate available battery power during operation.

The compact XL50® optical system produces a concentrated green beam with 8,633 candela peak intensity and an ANSI-rated beam distance of 186 meters.

  • LED Type: Green Spectrum LED

  • Beam Color: Green

  • Thermal Management: LED Heat-Sink Technology

  • Power Management: Electronic

  • Head Diameter: 1 in. / 25.4 mm

3. Power/Mode Functions

The Green Spectrum XL50® LED uses Maglite®'s QuickClik® electronic tail-cap switch, allowing the available functions to be selected directly from the tail cap. The multi-mode electronic interface provides quick one-handed access without requiring a separate side switch or complicated external controls.

The flashlight provides Full Power, Low Power, and Strobe functions. Full Power delivers the maximum 143-lumen green output. Low Power reduces output to 33 lumens and extends runtime to approximately 31 hours. Strobe provides a flashing green-light function for signaling, attention-getting, or emergency applications.

The Green Spectrum XL50® LED is built around a compact aluminum body designed to provide durability while remaining easy to carry. At approximately 4.8 inches (121.92 mm) long with a 1-inch (25.4 mm) barrel diameter, it fits easily into pockets, hunting gear, outdoor equipment, vehicle kits, field bags, emergency kits, and professional equipment.

The cylindrical body incorporates a textured knurled grip for secure handling and control. The compact XL50® configuration positions the QuickClik® switch at the tail cap for natural one-handed operation. The Green Spectrum version uses a black body with a green accent identifying the specialized green-light model.

U.S.A. Manufacturer

Mag Instrument’s (Maglite®) only factory in Southern California is, and always has been. Our entire manufacturing workforce – from product-development engineers to automation specialists to machinists — reports to work there, as it always has. However, we can’t make every part, component, and accessory under our roof.  When we have to go outside, our strong preference is to procure such parts from a maker that is not only domestic but, if possible, local.

But in this age of trade globalization, it is not always practical for the manufacturer of any product of any complexity to procure all the needed parts and components domestically.  In addition to price, there are other and often far more important considerations, like consistent quality and stability in the supply chain.  We have even faced situations where no potential domestic supplier was interested in bidding on a part- or component-supply contract.  And so it is necessary, from time to time, to go overseas for a part or component, as much as we do not like to do that.

So when we say we are “A U.S.A. Manufacturer” whose flashlights are “Built In America,” we do not mean that no part, component, or accessory of one of our flashlights is ever imported. What we  DO mean is that our flashlights are, and always have been, invented, designed, and engineered in America and assembled in and shipped from our American factory where all of the body parts and most of the other parts are made, even if some parts, components, and accessories may need to be sourced from an overseas supplier.  And when our product includes some foreign content, we duly note that on the package labeling.

In this way, we strive to save as many American jobs as possible by keeping our manufacturing as American as it can be and still yield a reliable supply of a product of the quality our consumers demand at a price they will accept.

10-Year Limited Warranty

Mag Instrument, Inc. warrants to the original owner that this flashlight is free from defects in parts and workmanship for ten years from the date of first retail purchase.  Mag or an authorized Mag Warranty Service Center will, free of charge, repair or, at its option, replace a defective flashlight or component. (Mag does not warrant the future availability of particular colors or decorations, and may replace a custom flashlight with a standard flashlight.)  This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied.

EXCLUSIONS: This warranty does not cover any of the following: 1. Battery exhaustion; 2. Battery leakage; 3. LED burnout and/or LED module failure; or 4. Damage to or failure of the flashlight or any component thereof due to alteration, misuse, battery leakage or lack of maintenance.

Mag Disclaims any responsibility for incidental or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions (countries, provinces, and states) do not allow exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, incidental or consequential damages and/or limitations on transferability, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

HOW AND WHEN TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM: 1. In case of battery exhaustion, do not return the flashlight to Mag, but replace the batteries. 2. If the flashlight has been damaged by leakage of batteries, do not return the flashlight to Mag, but determine what brand of battery caused the damage and follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions about how to make a damage claim. 3. For warranty returns: Send the flashlight (postage or shipping prepaid) to Mag Instrument, 2001 South Hellman Avenue - 50600, Ontario, California, USA 91761-8019, Attention: Warranty/Repair Department, or to an authorized Mag Warranty Service Center. For the location of an authorized Mag Warranty Service Center in your area, consult the retailer where you purchased the flashlight or see the customer service section at www.maglite.com. For your protection and to expedite handling and/or postal claims, we recommend that all returns be insured and sent Certified and/or Return Receipt Requested. Do not send batteries with flashlights.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from country to country, province to province, and state to state. Where any term of this warranty is prohibited by the law of any jurisdiction, such term shall there be null and void, but the remainder of this warranty shall remain in full force and effect. THESE STATEMENTS DO NOT AFFECT THE STATUTORY RIGHTS OF A CONSUMER.
