2. Technology and Features in the Head of the Flashlight

At the center of the flashlight is a specialized warm white Spectrum LED light engine engineered to produce a warmer, more natural-looking beam than a conventional cool-white LED. The warm white spectrum helps preserve visible color differences in objects such as wires and cables, where browns, blacks, reds, and other colors need to remain distinguishable during inspection and technical work.

The LED system incorporates LED Heat-Sink Technology to help manage heat generated by the LED and support dependable operation within the flashlight's exceptionally compact body. Basic power management helps regulate available battery power during operation.

Operation is intentionally simple. The twist-head switching system controls both power and beam focus without requiring a separate push-button switch or electronic mode sequence. Twist the head to turn the flashlight on, continue rotating it to adjust the beam between spot and flood, and twist it back to turn the light off.

The flashlight provides one primary Full Power output rather than multiple electronically selectable brightness levels. The Solitaire® platform also supports hands-free Candle Mode, allowing the light to be configured as a small stationary area light when hands-free illumination is needed.

The Warm White Spectrum Solitaire® LED operates from one AAA alkaline battery, keeping the flashlight exceptionally small while using a commonly available replaceable battery.

Mag Instrument’s (Maglite®) only factory in Southern California is, and always has been. However, we can’t make every part, component, and accessory under our roof.  When we have to go outside, our strong preference is to procure such parts from a maker that is not only domestic but, if possible, local.

But in this age of trade globalization, it is not always practical for the manufacturer of any product of any complexity to procure all the needed parts and components domestically.  In addition to price, there are other and often far more important considerations, like consistent quality and stability in the supply chain.  We have even faced situations where no potential domestic supplier was interested in bidding on a part- or component-supply contract.  And so it is necessary, from time to time, to go overseas for a part or component, as much as we do not like to do that.

So when we say we are “A U.S.A. Manufacturer” whose flashlights are “Built In America,” we do not mean that no part, component, or accessory of one of our flashlights is ever imported. What we  DO mean is that our flashlights are, and always have been, invented, designed, and engineered in America and assembled in and shipped from our American factory where all of the body parts and most of the other parts are made, even if some parts, components, and accessories may need to be sourced from an overseas supplier.  And when our product includes some foreign content, we duly note that on the package labeling.

In this way, we strive to save as many American jobs as possible by keeping our manufacturing as American as it can be and still yield a reliable supply of a product of the quality our consumers demand at a price they will accept.

Mag Instrument, Inc. warrants to the original owner that this flashlight is free from defects in parts and workmanship for ten years from the date of first retail purchase.  Mag or an authorized Mag Warranty Service Center will, free of charge, repair or, at its option, replace a defective flashlight or component. (Mag does not warrant the future availability of particular colors or decorations, and may replace a custom flashlight with a standard flashlight.)  This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied.

EXCLUSIONS: This warranty does not cover any of the following: 1. Battery exhaustion; 2. Battery leakage; 3. LED burnout and/or LED module failure; or 4. Damage to or failure of the flashlight or any component thereof due to alteration, misuse, battery leakage or lack of maintenance.
