Simplify Your Life
As fall approaches, back-to-school and end-of-summer blues may start to creep in. Take this opportunity to refocus on what’s important in life -- living! Getting rid of mental and physical clutter is a great way to simplify your life and embrace the #maglife -- it’s all about more living and more adventure! #GOALS Setting Simplifying your life sounds simple enough… until you actually try to start! Setting (realistic) goals is the first step towards getting where you really want to go. Try asking yourself: What are the three most important things in my life? If I had more time, how would I spend it? What do I want to accomplish in the next few years? Evaluating your priorities and setting goals will help the path towards simplifying become more clear. #MAGLIFE Unplugged With all the technology out there right now, disconnecting from social media, email, etc. is easier said than done. Have you been to a family gathering and everyone was either on their phone, tablet, or watching TV? Being present, having conversations, and spending quality time with loved ones has almost become a thing of the past. That’s why #maglife calls for adventure! Unplug and enjoy life the way it was meant to be -- go on a hike, plan a stay-cation, or just take a walk around the block or a lake with your loved ones! It’s also amazing what some fresh air can do to help de-clutter the mind. Wherever your #maglife adventure takes you, make sure to get yourself a Maglite flashlight to bring along. Conquer the Clutter When our environment is physically cluttered, it can make the mental clutter feel that much more overwhelming. Whether it be your house, your car, or your desk, organizing your space is a great way to simplify and feel both productive and at peace. Start by utilizing the good ol’ “have I used it in a year?” trick to purge unnecessary items. Next, make sure that everything has a proper place (don’t just stick it in the junk drawer!). When you know what you have and know where everything is, you will have conquered the clutter! There's also a sense of achievement that is important for your mental health when you start getting organized. Every little bit that you do will make you feel better about your life and yourself. Conquering the clutter is as much about self-empowerment as it is about self-improvement. Find time to unwind! Life is complicated enough to always worry about tomorrow. Do what you can today and find time to unwind. Keeping your mind healthy is just as important as keeping your body healthy. Reading a book is a great way to unwind, whether it's fiction or non-fiction. Go sit on the beach or by a lake. Or, go for a drive on your favorite scenic route (be sure to have our Roadside Safety Pack in your car). There are just so many ways to unwind. A quick search on Google and there'll be plenty of ideas to choose from.

Learn moreWhat Women Do To Feel Safe While They Run
"I run with a small but very heavy Maglight [sic] flashlight that my dad got me years ago," says Liz K., 38, from Chicago. "It's in a heavy-duty nylon case with a wrist strap, so I strap it to my wrist and then grip the flashlight with my finger on the power button while I run. My dad's thinking when he bought it for me was that I could use the heavy metal flashlight to fend off an attacker (or at least make it harder for them), and I suppose a bright light to the eyeballs would also be quite annoying, assuming I could click it on in time. Fortunately I've never had to use it." In a recent article, Shape.com shared how 34% of women feel afraid when they're exercising alone. But, that fear isn't stopping women from running. In it, they shared several things that women are doing in order to feel safe while they're running. One of the stories from real women is the one above, regarding the use of a Maglite flashlight. Read the full article here. Many of our customers purchase a Maglite for their loved ones, some of which are parents thinking about their son or daughter's safety. In fact, we recently had a customer emailed us about how much he loved that we have a pocket / purse flashlight (our Mini Maglite Pro LED), as it was something he made sure his daughter had for her safety. We're told all the time how our flashlights make our customers feel safe wherever they are.
Learn moreEarthquakes: Are You Prepared?
"My three top things that people should have water, food and lighting," said Jeff Edelstein, owner of SOS Survival Products, in a recent interview with ABC News regarding earthquake preparedness. See full report here. In its report, ABC noted that many people often talk about the Northridge earthquake of 1994, which was a 6.7-magnitude earthquake. However, the most recent earthquake in Ridgecrest on July 5, 2019 was a 7.1-magnitude earthquake. If there was ever a time to think about earthquake preparedness, it is now! Here at Maglite, we take emergency preparedness very seriously because we know and have heard many stories of lives being saved because they were prepared or someone around them was prepared - many stories with a Maglite at the center. Consider getting our Complete Home Bundle, which includes our full size ML300L 4D LED Flashlight, which can run more than two weeks nonstop on just 4 D-cell batteries. It also comes with the pocket/purse size Mini Maglite Pro LED flashlight and the Solitaire LED key chain flashlight. Get it here. Aside from earthquakes, blackouts seem to be happening more frequently also. Don't drain your phone battery using it as a flashlight, as it can be your only line of communication. Get your Maglite and have plenty of them around! Stay safe and always be ready!

Learn moreWho's Your Favorite James Bond?
This is kind of a big deal. James Bond. Who's gonna be next? Who do you want to be next? We don't know too many movie franchises that can change who the main character is so much and people are still crazy about the movies. Of course, the latest was Daniel Craig. We had some doubts at first, but he did great. But, you know, our favorites were probably Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. Not because their version of James Bond were using a Maglite or anything. (wink) Rumor has it that Idris Elba could be the next James Bond. They're also looking at Richard Madden, aka Rob Stark. The Lannisters send their regards. Let's hope that if he does become the next James Bond, he'd be a little smarter and not get himself killed at a wedding. That would just be tragic. Anyway, onto a lighter subject. The next time you go to a movie, see if you spot a Maglite. If you do, hit us up on Instagram with a little tag @maglite and let us know. We'll be your bestie for life for it. We love movies here at Maglite!
Learn more3 Things to Bring to a Music Festival
So you've got your tickets to that music festival you've been talking about all year. Some of you are a little fancy. You got that VIP package. Yeah? Nice! Here at Maglite, we like to be helpful. So we put together a little bit of a checklist for you so you can focus on more important things - like your outfits. Here are 3 necessary things you want to make sure you pack with you to your favorite music festival. It doesn't matter if it's Coachella, Stagecoach, Burning Man or your neighborhood jazz festival. You gotta have these things. 1. A Chair for Your Derriere (had to look up that spelling!) Get the lightest fold-up little bad boy out there. So, our pick would have to be the Helinox Chair Zero. It's just 1 pound and it's small enough to fit into our backpack. Now, if you're like blessed with size, you might want to consider something you can blow up like a Clevermade Airchair. Those are nice. A blanket could work, too. But, seriously, a blanket? It's not the 90's. 2. A Maglite (duh!) Here's a nightmare music festival scenario: Your phone dies. Save your phone battery for those songs worthy of the phone light. Or, just wave your Maglite instead! And, of course, you've gotta save your phone battery for texting, Instagram posts, story, live, etc. - gotta keep the world updated! Make sure you have with you either a Maglite Solitaire LED on your key chain or a Mini Maglite Pro LED in your purse or pocket OR the big boy - the ML300L 4D LED flashlight can run for more than two weeks straight nonstop. And it'll protect you from those wild animals (ahem). 3. A Water Bottle with a Filter Hydration is obviously important. We've read those crazy stories. Let's never say never, Beliebers. It could happen to you. We know Hydroflask is pretty much everywhere. But, have you seen the Brita Sport Water Bottle with Filter? If anyone knows how to clean water, it's Brita b*** (baby). You know what'd be cool? If you put a filter on a pic of you drinking the water bottle with a filter. Someone should filter our jokes. Anyway, get one! Thank us later. In conclusion... Ok, so you're probably gonna see us - Maglite - at some kind of music festival at some point. So, make us a big promise. Come say hi, yeah? We'll have a little something something for you. Let's just say... you'll be lit. Ha!
