ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio®
Maglite is proud to partner with ARRL, The National Association for Amateur Radio.
Mag Instrument, the U. S. A. manufacturer of the MAGLITE® Flashlight, has joined forces with ARRL, The National Association for Amateur Radio (see April 2021 announcement).
Founded in 1914, ARRL is a noncommercial organization that serves its members and its mission to advance the art, science, and enjoyment of Amateur Radio. ARRL's underpinnings are defined by five pillars: Public Service, Advocacy, Education, Technology, and Membership.
ARRL members, through their use of radio technology and radio signals which reach beyond borders, bring people together while providing essential communication in the service of their communities. ARRL's all-volunteer Amateur Radio Emergency Service® has a proud history of delivering critical communications when all else fails, especially following storms or other disasters that damage vital communications infrastructure. ARRL also supports outreach to schools and student groups through the ARRL Teachers Institute on Wireless Technology, ARRL Collegiate Amateur Radio Initiative, and ARRL Foundation scholarships. ARRL is a partner of Amateur Radio on the International Space Station – ARISS.
What is Ham Radio?
Amateur Radio (ham radio) is a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics, and communication together. People use ham radio to talk across town, worldwide, or even into space without the Internet or cell phones. It's fun, social, and educational and can be a lifeline during times of need.
