Mag Instrument is dedicated to the highest standards of integrity. We seek performance and a reputation reflecting the very best we can achieve. We are proud to offer products of classic American design and are committed to remaining a U.S.A. Manufacturer.
We believe the spirit and character of the company is most clearly defined and expressed by our founder, owner and president, Anthony Maglica. Each of our portable lighting products is a result of his commitment to fine engineering and world-class craftsmanship. An experimental machinist by training and a manufacturing innovator by practice, Mr. Maglica has guided his company’s growth from a one-man shop in 1955 to an enterprise that today employs several hundred dedicated employees and occupies some 700,000 sq. ft. of industrial space. But his work does not stop there. Mr. Maglica continues his commitment to quality by continually improving upon the products that bear his name.
The Mag® family of portable lighting products is world renowned for award winning design and style. Our products are unsurpassed when it comes to durability, reliability and safety. Each Maglite® Flashlight represents a combination of more than 20 years of research, development and continuous state-of-the-art refinement and testing in every precision feature. It is also reassuring to know that all Maglite® products come with a limited lifetime warranty.
Mag Instrument is proud to be a leader in the current renaissance in American manufacturing. Mr. Maglica himself, a fervent believer in the importance of manufacturing in the United States, is committed to keeping Mag Instrument a U.S.A. Manufacturer. He has dedicated himself to proving that American-made products can excel in the global marketplace by using technology to continually improve quality and reduce costs. Over the last 3½ decades, his innovations have enabled Mag Instrument to offer consumers a consistently better value than the competition.
Mr. Maglica’s relentless pursuit continues. His untiring commitment to aesthetically pleasing design, superior technology, world-class manufacturing quality, and outstanding value to the consumer continues to this day, as he works to develop the next generation of Maglite® products. These future products will be introduced to the marketplace only when Mr. Maglica is 100% satisfied that they exceed the reputation of the existing members of the Maglite® family of portable lighting products.
Mr. Maglica has been a champion of intellectual property rights. He has spent millions of dollars to protect what the law says is already his in the form of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and other intellectual property. Mr. Maglica relishes competition, but he also knows that it is unfair to the consumer when infringers produce cheap products with inferior quality and attempt to pass these off as the genuine article. Companies that manufacture these “knock offs” typically don’t invest significantly in research and development, product engineering, testing and safety measures. And, all too typically, they are not around when their inferior products fail.
The distinctive shapes, styles and overall appearances of all Mag Instrument® Flashlights, and the circumferential inscriptions extending around the heads of all Mag Instrument® Flashlights, are trademarks of Mag Instrument, Inc. The circumferential inscription on the head of every flashlight signifies that it is an original Mag® Flashlight and part of the Mag® family of flashlights.
Mag’s primary objective in the design and execution of its sales programs is to provide a “level playing field” in the marketplace based on an organization’s function in the marketplace. The strongest element of the program is the firm commitment to price stability for our products.
Mag Instrument fields a competent, knowledgeable sales force that is available on request to review these programs with the prospective customer.
Mag’s distinctive packaging and award winning store displays are another example of Mag’s leadership position in the marketplace. Both garner consumer attention in the stores and offer a marketing message that is concise and straightforward. We offer packaging configurations and merchandising options to fit most every need.
Mag ships its flashlights from its factory in Ontario, California, U.S.A., to over 85 countries around the globe. Its products are packaged in 14 different languages and, based on local regulations, our packaging undergoes thorough review to maintain compliance with local safety, labeling and environmental regulations.
With its national broadcast and cable television ad campaigns, Mag ensures consumer brand recognition and related demand. Public relations opportunities are also utilized to support branding efforts. Mag welcomes your suggestions and thoughts regarding these as well as other cross merchandising strategies that are mutually beneficial and consistent with Mag’s philosophy and long range goals and objectives.
Cost containment, efficiency and execution are all words that describe Mag’s view of the supply chain. We are committed to all elements of “quick response” including UPC coding, EDI and SCM.
Whether you need in-store service, security tagging, vendor managed inventories, market research related to the flashlight market, routing guide compliance or other services, Mag is committed to a supply chain that avoids out of stocks through rapid turnaround and the highest fill rates possible.
